KEVIN PEARCE WRAPS UP INCREDIBLE SEASON IN HOMETOWN -
Vermont-native looks to place well at the Burton U.S. Open of Snowboarding and secure an overall TTR win to hometown cheers
Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California (March 19, 2008) – Kevin Pearce heads home to Vermont this week to continue his dominant season at the Burton US Open of Snowboarding at Stratton Mountain. There are many reasons for the hometown crowd to cheer. With a combined Swatch Ticket to Ride (TTR) point total of 919.83 Pearce is leading the TTR rankings. Now only the US Open, the last six star TTR event of 2008, stands between Pearce and the cumulative TTR title.
“This winter has been a dream,” said Kevin Pearce. “After spending all season on the road, I’m so stoked to come home. I grew up watching the Open from the sidelines with my family. There is nowhere else that I’d rather finish off the contest season.”
The 20-year-old earned the nickname “Marathon Man” and made history after competing in and landing on the podium for three different events in one day at the 2008 Winter X Games. Pearce will compete in both Friday’s Slopestyle and Saturday’s Superpipe events.
